Below you'll find each step with helpful suggestions along the way, ensuring you get the best résumé possible. And we'll even cover some things you can do to get the best service from your new résumé. This page starts you on the path to getting your own professionally written résumé. Searching for a job can be stressful and time-consuming. Networking, contacting prospective employers, searching Internet job boards and sending out résumés, can consume your entire day. However, you can put aside one major concern. Of course, I'm talking about knowing that your résumé is great and promotes you and your abilities. This leaves your time available for handling those other important things only you can accomplish. There are several links associated with the first item "Select your résumé level," so you can get started, determining a good level for you. If you're unsure give me a call, and I'll help you. Once you decide which résumé level is right for you the next step is placing your order. Since your satisfaction and delight with your new résumé is the most important issue, the process is simple but also detailed so we both start out in agreement on the goal. The information you provide is encrypted and secure, so you can place your order and pay in complete confidence. The order process begins with you providing contact information and specifics about your order. You will designate the resume level you want. You will also let me know how you want to provide all your vital information for your new résumé. There are three options outlined in the next paragraph. There is also a place to designate how you want your résumé provided to you. Then you review my privacy policy and agree to the terms of service, before proceeding to checkout. There are three methods of providing your personal information, for your new résumé . You may request a Word questionnaire form, and complete it in the comfort of your home or office. For those without a computer there is a hard copy of the same questionnaire also available. Of course, I can consult with you by telephone to gather your resume information. However, the choice is yours. Your resume will shine regardless of which method you choose. Some people prefer to take the more relaxed forms method because they can give more thought to their responses. The Word version allows you to complete each field and then advance to the next area. If you need to go back and add or change some information, it is very easy. This method of providing your information usually results in the shortest response time for getting your new résumé. Providing your information over the phone in consultation with me, usually results in feedback concerning your statements, and allows me to follow-up on aspects of your history that are important, but that you may have overlooked. Rest assured however, that regardless of the method you choose to provide your work and education information, if I find areas that require further clarification, I'll contact you. The process of creating a great résumé, requires that I collect personal information from you. I will collect work history and educational background information. I also request job objective and SKA (Skills, Knowledge and Abilities) information. Your résumé will be as good as the information you provide, so even as you begin the order process, begin to consider the areas listed above. Your job objective is very important so please give it the attention it deserves. Since I collect a lot of information from you, it is only fair that I have a privacy policy that protects your information. My privacy statement is simple and short: I will not sell, rent, or give any of your personal information to anyone for any reason, at any time, except as may be required to collect payment for my services. You may pay for your professionally written résumé with your major credit card or with your PayPal account, if you have one. All payment information is also conducted over an encrypted and secure connection. If you need to discuss other payment options please call me. Once I have your information, it will usually take from 48 to 72 hours for your first résumé draft. I will send your résumé draft in the manner you defined on the order information form. Obviously email with your résumé as a Word attachment is the quickest and most convenient. The order information form also provides other options such as fax and regular mail. While fax is acceptable for proofing the draft, it is not an option for the final draft.
As soon as you receive your résumé draft, you must review each statement for accuracy. While I make every effort to produce an accurate résumé, in the process of promoting you, I may make claims that you are uncomfortable with. Any statements like this, or any inaccurate information should be forwarded to me for revision. I normally allow three days for you to complete revision notification, before considering your résumé as completed. Complete instructions are supplied with your résumé package.
After you use your résumé for awhile, if you are not completely satisfied, I will rewrite it to your written specifications at no charge within 45 days of the date I originally shipped it to you. This excludes inaccuracies or changes you missed in the three day review period.
When you are ready to use your résumé, you may have questions about how. While this page has a different purpose, a few pointers here might be good. First, your résumé will only get responses if your qualifications match those of prospective opportunities. Just blasting your résumé to hundreds of recruiters and prospective employers may get some good results, even greater results are possible by researching and networking with great prospects.
Networking with friends and former associates is a great place to begin. People with similar interests and skills are able to give you your best chance of finding a potential employer. Researching on the Internet and even the Yellow pages for companies who match your location and job skills, can generate very good leads. Since many employers do not advertise their job opportunities, contacting the hiring manager and requesting an interview even if no jobs currently exist, can pay dividends in the future when an opening does occur.
Of course there are the Internet job boards like Monster.com and CareerBuilder.com, that allow you to post your résumé and search for jobs from their huge listings. Regardless of how you find potential employers be sure to read the requirements, match your SKA's to the job requirements and follow their instructions for applying.
